Wisconsin Launches Operation Quit Tobacco
Week of July 16, 2007
More than 300 Wisconsin troops and veterans have enrolled in Operation Quit Tobacco, which provides free medication and coaching on how to quit smoking and chewing tobacco to military personnel who call the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line at 1-800-QUIT-NOW (784-8669). The program is available to all active duty Wisconsin military personnel as well as Wisconsin National Guard members, reservists and all Wisconsin veterans. Callers who call the Quit Line from a Wisconsin area code receive a free quit kit. For more information, visit the website of the University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention (UW-CTRI), which is sponsoring the program.
