The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has expanded its efforts to prevent suicide by introducing text messaging to its Veterans Crisis Line toolbox. Vets in crisis can call 1-800-273-8255, chat online 24/7 at www.VeteransCrisisLine.net), or send a text to 838255. Veterans and members of the military community in Europe may now receive free, confidential support from the European Military Crisis Line by dialing in Europe 0800-1273-8255 or DSN 118 to receive confidential support. VA's Veterans Crisis Line has added two external resources to provide Veterans with additional support-- Vets Prevail at www.VetsPrevail.org and Vets4Warriors at www.Vets4Warriors.com.
