VA Disability Claims Decision Appealed
Week of August 04, 2008
The veterans groups Veterans for Common Sense and Veterans United for Truth, Inc. have asked a federal appeals court to overturn a lower court ruling and force the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to expedite disability claims and treat troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The groups' original lawsuit was filed in July 2007 and claims the VA system that identifies and processes sufferers of PTSD collapsed.
