New Jersey Offers Honorary Diplomas for Veterans
Week of September 06, 2010
Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey has signed into law legislation that expands the state's "Operation Recognition" program to veterans of the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. The program awards state-endorsed high school diplomas to veterans who attended high schools in New Jersey but never graduated because they entered the military. In order to be eligible to receive the diploma, a veteran of the Korean or Vietnam conflicts must have received an honorable discharge and attended high school but left prior to graduation in order to serve in the armed forces. For more information, visit the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs Operation Recognition webpage or telephone the New Jersey Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs at 609-530-6854.
