The first of 50 new mobile counseling centers for Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Vet Center program are now available, with the remainder scheduled to be activated over the next three months. The 38-foot motor coaches allow counselors and outreach workers to bring services closer to veterans in more geographic areas, in addition to counseling at active-duty, reserve and National Guard activities and post-deployment health reassessments for returning combat servicemembers. Vet Centers provide non-medical readjustment counseling, including psychological counseling for traumatic military-related experiences and family counseling when needed for a veteran's readjustment.
