Filing for Economic Stimulus Check

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) says there are 48 million eligible Americans who have not yet filed the paperwork necessary to receive an economic stimulus check. Among those are low-income senior citizens and disabled veterans who normally do not have to file tax returns. If you know someone who falls into the following categories, please ask if they have filed a 2007 tax return: Social Security recipients including retirement income, disability income and survivor payments; Veterans Affairs beneficiaries including disability compensation, disability pension and survivor payments. For more information on how to file, visit the IRS' Economic Stimulus Payments Information Center.
