Attention all Sea Service Personnel
Week of January 15, 2007
The Naval Order of the United States is leading a campaign to erect a monument to commemorate the Navy's role in the June 5, 1944, invasion of France during World War II. Although, all other U.S. armed forces services and those allied are memorialized at Normandy the U.S. Navy is not. The proposed monument will stand near the Utah Beach Landing Museum on the Normandy Coast. The monument will be entirely privately financed without government funding. More information is available on the Naval Order of the U.S. website www.navalorder.org.
