Capella University to Offer Credit for Courses

The online university to accept ACE recommendations for credit equivalency for the 88 courses provided by DAU.

MINNEAPOLIS, March 21,  2007 — Capella University, an accredited, fully online university that offers online degrees to more than 17,900 students, announced it will offer credit for courses provided by the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) to members of the Department of Defense (DoD)  Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L) workforce. Capella accepted the recommendations of the American Council on Education (ACE)  regarding the amount of transfer credit to be allotted for each of DAU’s 88  courses. More than 15 percent of Capella’s students are affiliated with the  Department of Defense.

“The  partnership between Capella University and DAU provides another outstanding  opportunity for members of the DoD Acquisition, Technology and Logistics  workforce to transfer DAU course credits toward degrees with a university that  has a great reputation for working with members of the federal government in  achieving their educational goals,” said Wayne Glass, Professor, Systems  Acquisition Management and Program Director, Strategic Partnerships at Defense  Acquisition University.

Capella  has also announced that it will waive the application fee for any DAU student  who is interested in attending Capella.

The  DAU offers courses in the areas of: auditing; business, cost estimating and financial management; contracting; facilities engineering; industrial/contract property management;  information technology; life cycle logistics; and more.
