Kids of Deployed Servicemembers Are Eligible for Free Summer Camps in 2005
The 22 sites for
Operation Purple Summer Camps which will help 2,000 military children of deployed servicemembers learn new skills for coping with deployment-related stress have just been announced by the National Military Family Association. These camps are funded by the Sears American Dream Campaign, a $100 million commitment to strengthen families, homes and communities. Nationwide registration for Operation Purple (all DoD Military Services, including the National Guard and Reserves) begins April 15, 2005.
Anheuser-Busch Honors Troops & Families By Giving Free Admissions, National Videos Salutes and Scholarships
Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. recently announced its "Heroes Salute" Initiative which honors the U.S. Armed Services by offering free single-day admission to its SeaWorld and Busch Gardens theme parks to active duty military, active reservists, U.S. Coast Guard, National Guardsmen and as many as three direct dependents beginning Feb. 7 through Dec. 31, 2005. Additionally, they produced and aired a video salute to U.S. Military Personnel at this year's Super Bowl as their way of saying thanks to American and Coalition Troops for protecting the American People and our homeland. Finally, as family members are making plans to attend college in the fall, they are offering new scholarships for military spouses and children of our fallen heroes. Our hats are off to our patriotic friends and leaders at Anheuser-Busch.
