Infantry Elitists Rebuked; Over Deployment Drama
Ask Ms Vicki | September 17, 2009
and female that write in say there is nothing anyone can do to make a servicemember pay financial support without a divorce order or a legal separation order.

In some cases (which I also advise you to do) commanders or first sergeants will talk to the Soldier and advise the spouse of their financial responsibility to their family. Sometimes this will work and sometimes it doesn’t.

I advise you to contact his rear detachment commander or first sergeant and speak to them about your situation. Hopefully, they will contact the unit in Afghanistan and order him to continue to support you. Again, I think you must consider legal advice immediately. I know this is a tough situation for you, and I only wish you the best. Please keep in touch with me and let me know how you are doing.
