The Fed Keyword Quiz

The Army Civilian Personnel Office is using the Resumix system to select qualified applicants who have submitted their resume into the www.cpol.army.mil website and resume builder. However, be forewarned: Before you submit your resume into the CPOL Resume Builder for a particular position, you should know that the human resources specialists and supervisors search resumes for five to seven keywords to find qualified candidates.

It’s important to identify these keywords from the “duties” and “qualifications” sections of job postings and add these words into your resume to demonstrate your knowledge, skills, abilities and specialized experience.

See if you can guess which set of keywords belongs to which Army position. Here are the three positions.

How to find your keywords:
Here is the duties paragraph for an accessions operations position. See the boldface words in this paragraph. These would be some of your keywords for your resume, if you were to apply for this position. Use this same technique to analyze an announcement for keywords and add as many of them as you can to the work experience section in your Resumix.
major duties: 
 
Works under the supervision of the Chief of Recruiting Operations and G3, USAAC, who makes assignments on a continuing and/or project basis. Serves as an Accessions Operations Analyst, responsible for providing analytical staff support for accessions and recruiting operations in support of the G3. Provides long-term recruiting accessions operations staff continuity.
