Cindy Sheehan Sheds Her Skin
Tom Kovach | July 24, 2007
Apparently, hell hath no fury like Cindy Sheehan scorned. The infamous "peace mom," who used her son's death in the war as a launching pad for her wacko political views, is now claiming that she is an Independent. The fact that she is nearly bankrupt, and is suddenly running for Congress against wealthy Nancy Pelosi (and, thus, could only get on the ballot as an Independent) is merely "an inconvenient truth."

She had no problem with the Democratic Party as long as they were paying the bills to make her famous. That well-known "stuck on stupid" photo of her leaning on Jesse Jackson said it all. But, when the money ran out, she ran out.

To justify her departure, Cindy (I'm loathe to call her Mrs. Sheehan -- as is her former husband...) now lists the enormous misdeeds of the Democrats throughout the 20th Century. And, she's right. As the old saying goes, "Even a stopped clock is right twice a day."

As to her claim that she was only a lifelong Democrat because "the choices were limited," that isn't true. Her views fit quite well with an established political party. Here in the land of the free, the Communist Party has been an established presence since the Great Depression. As one with Communist leanings (especially when leaning on Jesse Jackson...), she claims that she will fight against "corporate interests." But, she seems to have no problem putting out news releases to corporate-owned Big Media.

At least one thing is consistent with Cindy Sheehan:  hypocrisy.
