Three Soldiers from Fort Bliss were arrested Friday in connection with a pre-dawn home burglary in the Cielo Vista area that occurred while residents were in a bedroom, police said.
Christopher Francis Cashner, 19, and Johnathan Kersey and Cody Lewis Hall, both 18, were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity-burglary of habitation.
They could face more charges because detectives suspect they were involved in other break-ins, police spokesman Javier Sambrano said.
At 4:46 a.m. Friday, police were called when residents heard noises at the side of their house in the 8400 block of Turrentine and and saw a suspicious car parked out front, Sambrano said.
Detectives suspect the burglars entered the home through an unlocked door and stole a wallet left on a kitchen counter, Sambrano said. A police patrol in the area soon found the car, along with Cashner and Kersey. Hall was later arrested in the 12000 block of Montwood.
A military duffel bag holding DVDs and other items believed to have been stolen was found by police, Sambrano said.
The burglary came a week after police arrested four other Fort Bliss Soldiers in a BB-gun shooting spree, during which at least three people were shot at in Central El Paso.
