Mil Family Month Proclamation Featured

SAN ANTONIO -- In this edition of "Today's Air Force," medical evacuation specialists in Germany hit a major milestone, Airmen in Iraq take charge of security for Joint Base Balad, and a sick woman takes part in an art program designed to help cancer patients deal with their disease.

Airmen staffing the Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility at Ramstein Air Base Germany have made history... transporting 100,000 patients to or from Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.

Taking on a unique for the Air Force, Airmen at Joint Base Balad have taken over providing security for the base, and have seen a marked decrease in the number of rocket and mortar attacks.

Holding on to hope in the face of nearly insurmountable odds, one young mother with cancer finds strength through an art program that's brining patients and families together... Oncology on Canvas.

The 30-minute, weekly news show can be seen every day on The Pentagon Channel and American Forces Television Service stations around the world. The show also airs on more than 140 public cable-access stations within the United States.
