US Sailor Missing in Gulf of Aden

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - The U.S. Navy says a sailor from the USS San Antonio is missing after falling from a small boat used to transfer personnel from one ship to another.

The Navy says three sailors fell from the inflatable boat, which overturned while being lowered into the waters of the Gulf of Aden Wednesday morning.

In a statement issued from the 5th Fleet's Bahrain headquarters, the Navy said two sailors were rescued uninjured and the third was missing.

The Navy said the accident is under investigation and the name of the missing sailor is being withheld pending family notification.
