In the business world not having a master’s certificate in your resume (Project Management, Federal Contracts Manager, Information Systems Security, and Human Resources Management) is like showing up at a gunfight with a BB gun.
Why does certification make the difference? Because completing a master certificate program demonstrates your commitment to your profession and a higher level of expertise in your field. The related courses, which are offered by many well-known colleges and universities, may also prepare you for taking the licensing and certification exams that may be required to work in your field of expertise outside the military. In addition, many schools offer master certificate courses online; making it easier to fit into your busy life.
The good news is that if you’re eligible, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers education benefits (GI Bill) to cover most if not all the costs associated earning post-graduate certification. To qualify for GI Bill benefits the program must be approved for VA purposes.
You may receive education benefits from the VA if you qualify for any one or more of the following GI Bill programs:
- Post-9/11 GI Bill
- Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB)
- Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserves (MGIB-SR)
- Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP)
- Veterans Educational Assistance Program (VEAP)
- Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA)
