This scholarship program provides students with leadership, management, law enforcement, navigation, and marine science skills and training.
The Coast Guard's College Student Pre-Comissioning Initiative is a scholarship program for students entering their junior year of college. This program provides students with leadership, management, law enforcement, navigation, and marine science skills and training. The program's benefits include:
- Full payment of school tuition
- Fees and textbooks paid for
- Monthly salary of up to $2,000
- Life insurance
- Free dental and medical health care
- 30 days paid vacation per year
- Monthly housing and food allowances
- Leadership training
To be eligible for the program, you must:
- Score a 1000 on the SAT, 1100 on the SAT II, 23 on the ACT, or ASVAB GT of 110 or higher
- Be between the ages of 21 and 26 when you graduate from college Be a sophomore of junior (with at least 60 college credits completed toward your degree)
- Be enrolled at a four-year program at an approved institution with a minimum 25% minority population
- Meet all physical requirements for a Coast Guard commission
- Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Be a U.S. citizen
