The U.S. Army is launching a Wounded Warrior Sports Program for active-duty Soldiers with life-altering injuries (primarily amputees) in Jan. 2008, giving them the opportunity to compete at the national level. The Army will pay the athletes' registration fees, transportation, lodging and per diem while they compete at selected events. Instructions for the application process to participate in the Program are accessible on the Army MWR website at www.ArmyMWR.com by clicking on Recreation & Leisure, and then clicking on Sports. For more details, call 719-526-3908 or 703-681-7211.
