The mission of the Wounded Warrior Regiment/Battalions is to provide and facilitate assistance to wounded, injured, or ill Marines, Sailors attached to or in support of Marine units, and their family members, throughout the phases of recovery. The Regiment/Battalions develop individual Recovery Transition Plans that include: recovery and rehabilitation healthcare; education and job placement; life skills; coordination with appropriate DoD, VA, and other agencies; assistance with medical and non-medical conflict resolution; support in navigating through the Medical and Physical Evaluation Board (MEB/PEB) process and Combat Wounded Retention Waiver and Permanent Limited Duty (PLD) requests.
