The American Legion World Series (ALWS) was featured recently on a special episode of "Carl White's Life in the Carolinas," an Emmy-nominated television program that airs throughout both Carolinas and profiles interesting people and places in each state. View the video on YouTube. This year, the American Legion World Series will welcome eight more teams to Shelby, N.C. To partake in the 89th meeting of the series. From Aug. 13-16, all eight teams will participate in "pool play" which is streamed live on ESPN3.com - ESPN's Internet streaming channel. On Aug. 17, the two semifinal games will air on the ESPNU channel at 4 p.m. And 7 p.m., respectively. The championship game will be broadcast on ESPNU on Aug. 18.
