The Disabled American Veterans' (DAV) Transportation Network operates a fleet of 1,700 vans to provide free rides to medical appointments for veterans across the country. It takes thousands of volunteer drivers to make this service possible and new drivers are always needed. If you're interested in becoming a volunteer driver, you must pass a physical exam, carry a valid driver's license, have a safe driving record, carry current auto insurance, and attend training sessions. Contact the Voluntary Service Coordinator at your local VA medical center for more information. To find a VA medical center, visit the VA's Facilities Locator and Directory webpage.
