Vietnam Veterans Memorial Reaches Milestone

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. has reached its 100,000th offering at the Wall. Every day since the memorial opened in 1982, National Park Service rangers have gathered up the poems, dog tags, and other items that visitors have left as remembrances at the monument. The mostly anonymous items have been a way for people visiting the Memorial to commemorate and communicate with friends and relatives who died in the Vietnam War.
