Veterans Service Officers

County Veterans Service Officers (VSO), in partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs, work to ensure that veterans receive the federal and state benefits to which they are entitled. Thirty states have county VSOs to provide information and help fill out applications; the rest have state or regional officers. The work of VSOs is becoming increasingly important as veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan return home. To learn more about the VSO program, and to locate an office, visit the website of the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers.
