The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency is encouraging higher education institutions to get their 'Veteran-Friendly' designation — which ranges from bronze to gold-level status based on support for veteran students and their dependents on campus. The new program will make it easier for veterans to recognize which colleges and universities may best suit their educational needs. The 2015 application period for the veteran-friendly designation is May 11-July 13, and applications are available at the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency website. A full list of academic institutions certified by MVAA as veteran-friendly schools will be released in August.
