The Arlington National Cemetery and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently committed to repairing the authentic tomb monument at The Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery, which is a monument to honor those who do not return from battle. The monument at the tomb currently shows signs of wear and tear, including visible cracks. The process of repair and proper care of the Monument would be similar to the Lincoln Memorial -- re-grouting the cracks and use of only gentle cleaning methods instead of high-pressure power-washing. For more information on the Tomb of the Unknowns, visit the "The Old Guard" Tomb of the Unknown Soldier webpage and the Society of the Honor Guard Tomb of the Unknown Soldier website.
