TRICARE Shares its Patient Safety Program

The Military Health System (MHS) developed Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS) to improve the culture of patient safety in hospitals and other health care settings. Now the MHS is releasing the program to civilian healthcare providers. TeamSTEPPS is a research-based system that presents tools for team training, coaching and change management to effectively improve communication, reduce medical error, and create a culture of safety within the MHS.
