The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) offers several questions to ask yourself to determine if you have a drinking problem: (1) have you felt that you should cut down on your drinking? (2) do you feel annoyed when people make comments to you about your drinking? (3) do you feel guilty about your drinking? and (4) do you ever need a drink in the morning to get yourself going or to get rid of a hangover? If you find that your drinking has become a habit or that you need a drink to relax, relieve anxiety or go to sleep, you should reevaluate your drinking and talk to your doctor. TRICARE has an alcohol awareness program called the That Guy campaign at www.thatguy.com that aims to prevent alcohol misuse and/or abuse. You can also find resources and help for alcohol abuse on TRICARE's Alcohol Awareness webpage.
