TRICARE Offers Preparedness Tips
Week of September 08, 2008
TRICARE reminds beneficiaries to take a few simple steps to prepare for a worst-case scenario during hurricane season. Keep basic items such as water, food, a battery-powered radio, flashlights and first-aid items in an emergency kit. Be sure to pack all of your health care needs. Keep the following items packed in a waterproof emergency kit: a copy of Uniformed Services ID card; a copy of Medicare card or Other Health Insurance card; a list of Primary Care Manager, other doctors and emergency contact information; and a list of important phone numbers, including your regional contractor, Medicare, and Express Scripts (the TRICARE Pharmacy contractor). For more information, visit TRICARE's Disaster Preparedness webpage.
