Travel System Continues Rollout
Week of January 21, 2008
The Department of Defense is currently working on expanding the Defense Travel System (DTS) to cover 25 to 30 additional categories of official travel by 2009. This expansion will include permanent-change-of-station (PCS) moves and travel for medical care or training. The result will be a universal system that replaces dozens of other disjointed systems, creating efficiencies, maximizing the government's buying power, and eliminating some of the red tape and headaches federal travelers have long endured in arranging official travel. For more information, visit the Defense Travel System website.
