Tamale Products Recalled
Week of May 25, 2009
Amigo's Mexican Food, Inc., announced a voluntary recall of about 4,594 pounds of its red pork tamale products because they may contain an undeclared allergen, wheat. As a result the Defense Commissary Agency removed the following recalled item from its store shelves: Amigo's Home Style Pork Tamales Wrapped in Corn Husk, 35-ounce vacuum packages, UPC: 0-82199-00001-0. Each label bears a "P-13083" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The red pork tamale products were produced on various dates and were shipped to retail establishments in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to return opened and unopened containers to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. Customers with questions should contact Arnold Orquiz at (575) 546-6841.
