Study Says Family Stress Rising
Week of October 30, 2006
A one-year analysis of one brigade combat team shows that family stress is on the rise as deployments lengthen. But good, free resources are becoming available for families, including parents of deployed troops. Although these are Army-oriented, the guidance is applicable to people in all services: (1) "Battlemind" is a video available for download at www.battlemind.org. (2) "Your Soldier, Your Army: A Parents' Guide," by Vicki Cody, mother of two Army helicopter pilots, and wife of Gen. Richard Cody, Army vice chief of staff. The book is free through the Association of the U.S. Army website.
