A new study has found that Vietnam veterans who experienced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) were twice as likely to die from heart disease as veterans without PTSD. The study found that the more severe the PTSD diagnosis, the greater the likelihood of death from heart disease. The study was published in the July issue of Psychosomatic Medicine. An abstract of the study is available on the Psychosomatic Medicine website.
