States Declare Silver Star Day

Thanks to the efforts of Silver Star Families of America, the states of Indiana, New Mexico, Illinois, North Carolina, and Louisiana have proclaimed May 1 as "Silver Star Day" to honor the nation's wounded servicemembers. The group would like to establish May 1 as a national day of observance in every state that would honor America's wounded servicemembers. Individuals wanting to help represent Silver Star Day in a their state should contact Janie Orman, the group's vice president, or Steve Newton, Silver Star Families of America's president and co-founder.
