Under the Space-A (space-available) travel program, eligible servicemembers, retirees and their families can fill unused seats on Department of Defense-owned or controlled aircrafts once all the space-required passengers and cargo have been accommodated.
Space-A pricing can vary depending on where a passenger is flying from because of different taxes that are applied. Travel success depends on ensuring the proper paperwork is ready upon arrival at the terminal. If on active duty, an identification card, orders or leave paperwork is necessary.
