Job interviews can be challenging for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). But, research at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine has found that a virtual-reality interview simulator significantly increases a military veteran’s chances of landing a job. "Job Interview Training with Molly Porter" is a computer program that stars an actress who reads carefully crafted questions and responses. Veterans who used the computer program were almost twice as likely to get job offers as those veterans who did not use the program. The software program is available from the developer SIMmersion on the Job Interview Training website. An abstract of the study is available on the Psychiatric Services Journal website.
