Separating Sailors Prepare for Civilian Life
Week of October 15, 2007
The Transition Assistance Program or "TAP" course consists of a comprehensive five-day workshop which covers a variety of important topics ranging from job searches, resume writing, interviewing and veteran's benefits just to name a few. This course gives servicemembers many helpful tools to make the transition to civilian life as smooth as possible. Personnel should sign up for TAP 180 days prior to separation. Deployed servicemembers do not always have the opportunities to attend a class, but they can often work on the course via e-mail. For more information on the Transition Assistance Program, visit Military.com's Family and Fleet Support Center.
