Political Activities Guidelines

The Navy Region Northwest Staff Judge Advocate released its guidelines and restrictions on political activities for military personnel. Prohibited activities include: (1) participating in partisan political management, campaigns, or conventions speeches, articles, or TV/radio discussions; (2) conducting polls or distributing literature for a political party while in uniform, while acting in official capacity, or while on a military installation; (3) wearing military uniforms at political campaign or election events; (4) promoting political fundraising events; and (5) using government resources to further political activities or acting in a manner suggesting government involvement.
