JDS Computer Donations accepts laptop computers that it refurbishes and donates to nonprofit groups, public schools, and most recently, to deployed servicemembers. Nearly 500 of the refurbished machines already have been sent overseas to help servicemembers keep in touch with their loved ones back home. The laptops need to be at least Pentium II. For more information, visit the JDS Computer Donations website.
