The USO recently marked its 50,000th United Through Reading Military Program recording. The program, which helps deployed servicemembers and their families stay connected by reading children's books on DVD, is available at more than 60 USO centers in airports, community locations, military medical facilities and overseas bases through a unique partnership between the USO and United Through Reading. Once the servicemember is recorded reading a book of their choosing, the book, DVD and instructions are mailed to the child and family. For more information on the program, visit the United Through Reading website or call (858) 481-7323.
