The Navy announced the release of a new command sponsor and indoctrination instruction, OPNAVINST 1740.3C, "Command Sponsor and Indoctrination Programs." One of the biggest changes in the new instruction is that commands must appoint a command sponsor coordinator (CSC). Command master chiefs (CMC) are in charge of the program and must ensure Sailors receive Navy pride and professionalism training within 30 days of arrival or within three drill weekends for Reservists. To review the instruction, visit the Navy's CMC and Career Counselor's Corner webpage.
