The Navy announced its new Chief Petty Officer Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles that will form the basis upon which chief, senior chief and master chief petty officers will be evaluated. Commanding officers will employ a new E7-E9 Evaluation and Counseling record (CHIEFEVAL) starting with the Sept. 15, 2008 chief petty officer (CPO) and senior chief petty officer evaluation cycles. The CHIEFEVAL and a user reference guide can be downloaded from the NPC website.
