New Legislation to Mandate In-State Tuition

The House Military Quality-of-Life Subcommittee is debating House Bill (HR 3780), which would make in-state college tuition available to the children of active-duty military families who are stationed in a state on government orders. The bill aims to help military children who have to move from state to state and who may not qualify for in-state tuition. Thanks to a combined effort on the part of the Department of Defense, military parents, associations, and state legislatures, 33 states now provide in-state tuition to military children residing in their state.
