The new Post-9/11 GI Bill, which on average will double the value of education benefits for eligible veterans, will be launched on schedule next August and begin making payments to students and colleges next fall, just as Congress intended, says a senior Department of Veterans Affairs official. However, payments will have to be processed manually, which occurs with Montgomery GI Bill and other education benefit claims, because an automated processing system will not be ready for two more years. For more information, read the article on the Military.com website.
You have up to $47,556 through the Montgomery GI Bill to pay for a college degree or professional certificate. Don't wait until next summer to start taking classes under the New GI Bill -- earning a degree that will improve your career and financial future today.
