There are some 300,000 veterans living in Nevada, but many of them do not use their benefits because they do not know about them. The Nevada Department of Veterans Services is seeking more qualified volunteers to learn about all the programs, services and benefits available to those who are active military or former military. They will also learn about benefits that can help military spouses, children and survivors. These Veterans Advocates will then educate other veterans on the resources that are available. You can become certified as a Veterans Advocate by taking the Department's online course on the Nevada Department of Veterans' Services website at www.veterans.nv.gov/page/veterans-advocacy. The course is free.
