The Navy's Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) is accepting applications from regular or Reserve line Naval officers for the Olmsted Scholarship Program for fiscal year 2011. Olmsted Scholarship applicants are required to meet a list of qualifications and prerequisites and complete and submit a command-endorsed nomination package no later than Sept. 15, 2009. The program seeks highly qualified officers with at least three years of commissioned service -- but no more than 11 years of total active federal service as of April 1, 2010 -- to apply for the scholarship. The Olmsted Scholarship provides up to one year of foreign language study and two years of graduate study and other cultural travel experiences often leading to a graduate degree at a foreign university. For more information, visit the Olmstead Foundation website or contact Ms. Billie Colonna, CPPD, at (850) 452-1001, Menu Option 3, EXT 2219/DSN 922-1807.
