The U.S. Navy authorized a time-in-grade (TIG) waiver for Sailors who are retirement-eligible in pay grades E7 through E9 from two years to one year. This waiver applies to full-time support (FTS) and selected reserve (SELRES personnel and doesn't affect the pay computation of the retiring Sailor. Certain restrictions apply. For more information on full-time support retirement procedures, contact COMNAVPERSCOM (PERS-822) (Enlisted Retirements), at (901)874-3246/DSN 882. Questions concerning selected reserve (SELRES) retirement procedures can be addressed to COMNAVPERSCOM (PERS-913), at (901)874-4470/DSN 882.
