TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) announced a TRICARE policy manual change that involves a demonstration project for the reimbursement of Critical Access Hospitals (CAH) in the state of Alaska. The project will test the ability to adopt a Medicare-like CAH reimbursement process before implementing the change throughout the U.S. The adoption of the Medicare-like reimbursement process should allow for a higher reimbursement rate for CAH than they received prior to the demonstration project.
