Marines Issue Uniform Restrictions
Week of August 06, 2007
A recent All-Marine Message reiterated that the Marine Corps combat utility uniform is to be worn only in the field and Garrison, not in a civilian environment. Marines are forbidden to visit local military-affiliated establishments off base such as the USO, Navy or Marine Federal Credit Union and day care while in their field uniforms. Drive-through establishments such as ATMs, fast food restaurants or dry cleaners are authorized, as long as Marines do not leave their vehicle. During the summer season, Marines will wear desert uniforms with sleeves rolled up. Woodlands will be worn in the Winter. Commanders will prescribe the appropriate uniform for the field and tactical environment.
