The Lone Star Veterans Association will hold its kickoff event at the Campus Life Mall at University of St. Thomas in Huston Texas on Saturday June 20, 2009 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Lone Star Veterans Association is a newly formed veterans association is a subcommittee of the Houston Military Affairs committee. The event festivities include a barbeque dinner, Ultimate Frisbee, horseshoes, washers and fun children games. Various agencies and organizations will be on hand to answer questions about opportunities for veterans including higher education benefit updates to the new Post 9/11 GI Bill. The event is free and open to veterans in and around the Houston area. RSVP by Friday, June 12 to stthom.edu.
