Ranking Member of House Committee on Veterans' Affairs, Steve Buyer expressed deep concern over numerous Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) deficiencies that were revealed in a VA Office of Inspector General (IG) report released today. Buyer requested the IG report in February 2009 over concerns that VA did not adequately define costs and services of an interagency agreement with the Navy Space Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) to provide information technology services to VA. The agreement includes an effort to provide both short and long-term solutions to implement the new Post-9/11 GI Bill.
